Sunny Day in Green Garden near Santa Fe with Helga Underwood

Helga's maternity session at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden showcased the harmony between the female form and organic shapes. We timed the shoot for late afternoon when sunlight filtered through the cottonwood trees, creating natural spotlighting. Flowing silk fabrics complemented both her pregnancy curves and the wind-swept grasses.

The most powerful images emerged when we incorporated cultural elements meaningful to Helga - traditional Pueblo pottery placed near her belly, and shots framed through local wildflowers. Technical challenges included managing high-altitude UV exposure and composing shots that honored both subject and environment without either overpowering the other.
